Thriller Board

Just saw this on the bay, MICHAEL JACKSON'S THRILLER BOARD - a Harrison 4032 from Westlake Studio in Beverley Hills

Theres a BIN of £60k. I realise that this board has been on ebay before, at the end of last year, and the price then was $500,000! Then it appeared for $200,000 and as far as I know did't sell. So maybe this is a scam or something, maybe not!

From the ebay auction:

Michael Jackson recorded the all time best selling album, "THRILLER", on this Harrison 4032 console at Westlake Studios "Beverly" studio (A) LA, CA. with over 104 million records sold worldwide. You can now buy this legendary piece of Rock & Roll History used by the "KING OF POP" to record Thriller and tracks from "OFF THE WALL". CMI Records is offering this console for sale through ebay. The historic Harrison 4032 has been the recording console of choice of many of the finest engineers and producers of our time. Bruce Swedien, engineer for Michael Jackson on THRILLER and Off the Wall, swears by this console because of its ability to capture such great tone quality, among other features. For in depth information on the Harrison 32 series, put "Harrison Console" or "HARRISON BOARD" in your web browser. Visit our website for more pictures and notarized statements (COA) by Jim Fitzpatrick. Mr. Fitzpatrick was the chief engineer during the recording of THRILLER and made technical revisions to the Harrison Board at the time (as well Jim was a second engineer on the tracking dates). He came to CMI Studios, took the Board apart, and signed a statement indicating that this indeed is the board used to record THRILLER at Westlake Studios in LA. Also in the web site you will find a notarized statement (COA) by Glenn Phoenix, President and owner of Westlake Audio, further stating that this is the Board used to record Thriller in his studios. This Board has been used to record many of the all time greatest artists. A list can be provided on request.

The Board is in good working order and has been in use at CMI Studios for approximately 17 years.

This item will hold its value as a museum piece, or as a 'Thriller' tracking room at your recording facility. Consult your tax consultant regarding "tax benefits" in amortizing the item NOTE: You can do a one time deduction or roll it over a 5 year period (If you have large spending and want a 'biz' write-off you can own this Legend for next to nothing)!!!
NOTE: The color of the nobs and over-all console pic's seem different due to 'black and white vs color' and the age of the photos e.g. #6 was taken 28 yrs ago. The Board is unchanged other than the BROWN arm rest , which is now black (the fabric on the pads where often replaced do to razor blades and rips etc)! It can easily be changed back to brown if you so desire. We also have the executive/Producers desk (not pictured). We have recently restored the walnut sides and top.

"BULLETIN"
April 14, 2010: This item has created much stir on the internet, of which we have had no hand in promoting... as it is just by popular grace that many various blogs, stores, audio sources, publications, and more around the world are anouncing the "Thriller Board" of their own choice along with pictures and commentary! Comments have ranged from downright putdowns and critical remarks to ('positive statements' Amen! ) as to how it might be used, and on its historical value ![GOOGLE "michael jackson thrillerboard"] and check out the BUZZ"""
Again, It is not being sold for its mechanical value as a recording desk (although it is more than great for that).
*We are now using a 'Scope/Cubase Germany', 32 bit digital system in addition too... and this console has made our recordings sound as good as it gets "warm-and not digital" Moreover the 'Thriller Board' is a value because it's importance as a piece of 'rock & roll history-memorabilia".

NOTE: There are numerous pictures and videos available that would support and enhance this piece as a museum exhibit, an attraction to your recording studio, a corporate conversation piece or collector's item in your home.
We would prefer not to sell this console, However our calling is to continue to support 'Christ ministry', producing new Christian music artists, and to minister the word of God throughout the world...!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

CMI Records.-(Christian Music International.) Is an independent record label. We produce and record music by new Christian artists for the glory of the Kingdom of God. We are currently in session with several singer songwriters, (such as The Dunn Sisters)...to listen and meet them go to www.cmi-records.com ...! We pray that the sale of this console will bless 'not-only' our ministry, but as-well the one person who feels compelled, and led-of 'the Lord' to acquire this wonderful mixing desk, We hope that you will enjoy the 'Thriller Board' as much as we have for over 18 years.
In our Fathers name -many blessings to you and your descendants...! Amen!
